AI Dance Video From a Photo
Motion effect
Dance is the hardest common effect to fake well, because a body has to stay consistent through a full range of motion. It also produces the most shareable clips, which is why every short-video app now ships one. This page covers which photos survive a dance prompt, which styles work, and how to run it free.
Run this effect now
Upload one photo, keep the motion small, and check the whole clip before you publish. The free demo uses a shared public queue.
Leave this blank if you want the default safe motion prompt.

Full body or nothing
A dance prompt needs legs. Cropped portraits, seated poses and waist-up shots give the model nothing to move, and it will either do a tiny sway or invent legs that do not match the torso. The single biggest quality jump comes from uploading a standing, full-body photo with space around the person.
A plain background helps more than a beautiful one. Busy scenes compete with the moving body, and the model starts animating background elements as if they were part of the choreography.
- Standing, full body, feet visible, at least a hand-width of empty space on each side.
- One person only; groups split attention and produce tangled limbs.
- Loose clothing reads better than tight patterns, which flicker under motion.
Choosing a style that matches the source
Hip-hop and freestyle need sharp weight shifts and work with almost any standing pose. Ballet and contemporary look wrong unless the pose already suggests extension, so start from a photo with a raised arm or a turned foot. Trend-style moves are short and repetitive, which is friendlier to the model than a full routine.
Keep the clip short. A four-second loop that reads cleanly beats a twelve-second sequence where the face drifts. If you want a longer edit, render two or three short clips from the same photo and cut between them on the beat.
Prompts that work for this effect
Copy one, paste it into the box above and change the subject. Keep one motion per prompt; stacking three requests is what produces the melted frames.
Hip-hop groove
The person dances a short hip-hop groove, full body visible, weight shifting between feet, arms moving with the beat, camera static, consistent face.
Trend loop
The person performs a short repeating dance trend move, feet planted, upper body leading, natural rhythm, no cuts, subject stays centred.
Slow contemporary
The person performs a slow contemporary dance phrase, extended arms, controlled turn of the torso, soft light, camera slowly pushes in, no added people.
Questions about this effect
Can it dance from a headshot?
It can try, but the result is usually a swaying head on invented shoulders. For a dance clip, a standing full-body photo is effectively required.
Is there audio?
No. The demo returns silent video. Add music in your editor, and remember that the track needs to be cleared for the platform you post to.
Why do the legs bend oddly?
Usually the photo hid the legs or the pose was already mid-movement. Try a neutral standing shot with both feet planted and reduce the prompt to one style cue.
How many attempts should I expect?
Public queues are shared and non-deterministic. Plan for two or three runs before you get a clean loop, and keep the photo identical so you are comparing prompts, not inputs.
Can I animate a photo of a child dancing?
Only with the permission of the child’s parent or guardian. Do not upload images of other people’s children, and do not publish a clip of a minor for commercial use without consent.
Ready for a specific model or an HD export?
The free demo is a test lane. The signed-in generators expose more models, aspect ratios and repeatable settings, and they are the right place to spend credits once you know the prompt works.
Credit packs are one-time purchases. Prices are shown before checkout and no subscription is started.
