Gender Swap AI Video From a Photo

Transform effect

A gender swap is a transformation, not a costume. The model has to change bone structure, hair and facial proportion while keeping the person recognisable, which is a much harder ask than adding a filter. This page is honest about where it holds up, and lets you test it free.

Framing decides the result

The transform reads best on a front-facing portrait with even light and a clean background. Three-quarter turns make the model guess at the far side of the jaw, and heavy shadows read as a different person rather than a different presentation.

Keep the change small and specific. Asking for a full change of face, hair, clothing and scene in one clip is what produces the uncanny version people screenshot for laughs. One changed attribute at a time looks deliberate.

  • Front-facing, evenly lit, hair fully visible, shoulders in frame.
  • Name one or two attributes: hair, jawline, facial hair, styling.
  • Avoid strong directional light, sunglasses and heavy occlusion.

Use it as a preview, not a portrait

This is a video effect. If what you actually want is a still image with a different presentation, run it through an image editor first and animate the still afterwards — you get a cleaner frame and a reference you can correct.

Be careful with anyone who is not you. A gender swap is a sensitive edit, and publishing one of a colleague, classmate or ex-partner without consent is harassment in most places regardless of how good the output looks. Only run this on your own photo, or on a photo you have explicit permission to transform.

Prompts that work for this effect

Copy one, paste it into the box above and change the subject. Keep one motion per prompt; stacking three requests is what produces the melted frames.

Subtle presentation shift

The person transforms gently toward a different gender presentation, hair and jawline shift slightly, same face structure, same lighting, subtle movement, no scene change.

Bold transformation

The person transforms toward a different gender presentation in one continuous motion, hair length and styling change, facial hair appears, camera holds still, clear single take.

Styling only

The person changes hairstyle and makeup only, facial identity unchanged, soft studio light, small head movement, no background change.

Questions about this effect

Does the person stay recognisable?

Yes at small transformations, less so at large ones. The further the prompt pushes bone structure, the more identity drifts. Short clips with limited movement are the reliable middle ground.

Can I swap two people’s faces?

Not here. This is a single-image transformation, not a face swap between two photos. A two-image swap is a different pipeline and a different consent problem.

Can I do this to a photo of a friend?

Only with their explicit permission. Transforming and publishing someone else’s face without consent can be harassment or defamation depending on where you live, and most platforms will remove it.

Why did the background change too?

Image-to-video models treat the whole frame as movable. Add “no background change” and “camera holds still” to the prompt, and choose a source photo with a plain background.

Is the output saved on the site?

The demo hands you a downloadable result and does not promise permanent storage. Download the clip when it finishes if you want to keep it.
