AI Bald Filter on a Photo

Transform effect

A bald filter is one of the few heavy transforms that behaves well, because removing hair is a subtraction the model can do without inventing a new face. It still fails on some inputs. This page covers the shots that work, how to write the prompt, and how to run it free in the browser.

What makes a bald transform convincing

The model has to invent a scalp, a hairline and the shape of a skull it has never seen. That works when the existing hair does not cover the ears, the jaw or the forehead, and it fails when a full fringe or a long mane has to be removed without leaving a seam.

A short haircut is the easiest starting point, not the hardest. There is less to erase, the skull is already partly visible, and the lighting on the forehead tells the model what the new surface should look like.

  • Hair above the ears and off the forehead, tied back or short.
  • Even front light, no strong side shadow across the scalp.
  • Head and shoulders in frame, camera facing the subject.

Keep it good-natured

This effect is popular at parties, in group chats and for a laugh before a haircut. It stops being funny the moment it is aimed at someone else. Run it on your own photo, or with the clear agreement of whoever is in the frame, and do not publish a clip of a colleague or a classmate who did not say yes.

If you want a preview before a real head shave, a short clip with a slow reveal gives you a much better sense of the shape than a still, because you see the head from more than one angle.

Prompts that work for this effect

Copy one, paste it into the box above and change the subject. Keep one motion per prompt; stacking three requests is what produces the melted frames.

Slow reveal

The person gradually becomes bald, hair recedes and disappears, scalp appears naturally, face and expression unchanged, camera holds still, soft light, no cuts.

Instant transform

The person becomes completely bald in one quick continuous motion, skin tone matches the face, no background change, sharp detail, single take.

Before and after feel

Start with hair, then a smooth transition to a bald head, then a small confident nod, consistent identity throughout, neutral studio background.

Questions about this effect

Will it change my face too?

It should not, and a short clip with the camera held still keeps identity very stable. If the face shifts, remove any sentence about age or expression and name only the hair change.

Does it work with long hair?

It can, but long hair has to be erased over the shoulders and neck, which is where seams appear. Tie it back in the source photo for a cleaner result.

Can I see it from the side?

The demo animates one still, so it will not turn the head into a true 3D view. A slight camera orbit in the prompt gives an impression of another angle without promising accuracy.

Is this free?

The demo on this page runs on a shared public queue and does not charge credits. It is best effort: queues can be busy or paused.

Can I use it on a photo of someone else?

Only with their permission. Altering and publishing someone’s appearance without consent is a real harm, and depending on your location it can be actionable.

Ready for a specific model or an HD export?

The free demo is a test lane. The signed-in generators expose more models, aspect ratios and repeatable settings, and they are the right place to spend credits once you know the prompt works.
